Important Information*
I've read the information below.
1. One of both parties must be Franklin County residents as proven on a valid driver's license
2. Both parties must be at least 18 years of age and present to obtain the license
3. All license obtained in this office are valid for thirty (30) days from the date of issuance and must be utilized in the state of Kentucky
4. The marriage license fee is fifty dollars ($50.00) (check/card---use of the card will incur a 2.75% vendor's fee)
5. Once a marriage license is returned to the County Clerk and becomes a permanent public record, a costly court order at your expense is the only avenue for making any corrections. Proof of marriage often becomes necessary when dealing with insurance companies, obtaining a passport, retirement, etc. We cannot stress enough the importance of presenting accurate information to the best of your knowledge during this process. Please review your application BEFORE submitting it.
